Ranging from simple low alloy steel to complex high-temperature alloys, Electralloy products are used in applications where there is no room for error and failure is not an option. Ingot, billet, bar, master alloy, plate and wire are available in: austenitic stainless & Nitronic®, martensitic, precipitation hardened, duplex, nickel and copper nickel grades.
AOD refined bottom poured ingots
Electralloy has always been a pioneer in Argon Oxygen Decarburization technology. Today, Electralloy is the oldest continuous AOD operations in the world. Our computerized AOD units refine liquid metal provided by our 32-ton electric arc furnace to provide no-doubt-about-it metallurgical predictability and consistency. This repeatable heat-after-heat control, coupled with masterful bottom pouring, gives you cleaner alloys, better surface quality, low residuals and the highest yields attainable.
Our ingot sizes range from 13" to 70" and from 1,900 to 63,500 lbs.
Vacuum Arc Remelt Ingots
Remelting AOD refined electrodes via our state of the art fully computer controlled Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) furnaces results in consistently higher yields, improved hot workability and predictable reproducible alloys remelt after remelt after remelt. Our process results in a denser, fine grained remelted ingot while exhibiting superior cleanliness, higher physical properties, higher corrosion and electrical resistance with lower gas content than standard air melt products of the same type and size.
Crucible Sizes Wt. (max.)
VAR Ingot sizes range from 17" to 40" in diameter and from 6,000 to 40,500 lbs.
AOD refined Electroslag Remelt Ingot
Remelting AOD refined electrodes via our fully computerized Electroslag Remelt (ESR) furnace provides the fully automated, precisely controlled process resulting in a consistently higher quality remelted ingot that out performs standard air melt ingot. Our Electroslag Remelt ingots consistently exhibit a fine, uniform, dense grain structure along with reshaped inclusion morphology remelt after remelt. These ingots exceed the demand for superior cleanliness, superior mechanical properties both in the transverse and longitudinal directions, improved hot workability, improved creep and corrosion properties that routinely are imposed by stringent aerospace, nuclear, power generation specifications and specialty alloy and specialty alloy product suppliers.
Crucible Sizes Wt. (max.)
ESR ingots range from 17" to 44" in diameter and from 6,500 lbs. to 46,500 lbs. Also available is a 12" x 42" and 22" x 55"slab configuration.
12" x 42"
22" x 55"
