Boosting knowledge. Increasing awareness. These days, safety and quality training is absolutely mandatory for any company that wants to be productive and profitable. Obviously, an informed, well-trained workforce is central to success and productivity.
To ensure that our employees are as knowledgeable as possible, Electralloy held its annual Quality, OSHA Training, and Safety Review Day, on January 19th at the Venango Technology Center.
With all Electralloy employees in attendance, the day was a refresher course for most, but proved to be useful and informative.
Quality Control Manager Bill Mong started the day with a review of certification programs including:
-SRI ISO 9001-2008 / PED
-NADCAP
-AS9100
Bill also reviewed Electralloyís policies on quality, identity, fraud and falsification and malpractice. Employees were then provided with their own copies of Electralloyís Standard Practices and Accreditations for reference and review.
After a break for lunch, Bill Prather, FDR safety Principal Consultant, presented an in-depth review of the Electralloy Safety and Health Program. The primary topics covered included:
- Fire Safety
- Exit Plans
- Medical Emergency Procedures and Blood Pathogens
- Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
- Confined Space Safety Procedures
- Personal Safety Equipment
- Electralloy Sexual Harassment Policies
Electralloy views this annual training day as a way to provide employees with meaningful opportunities to expand their knowledge, develop their skills and to achieve our goal of, ìgetting each employee home safe each and every dayî.
