Electralloy, a G.O. Carlson company, recently hosted a plant tour for more than 110 forging executives representing leading forging and forging supplier companies throughout Europe, Asia, South America and North America.
The tour was held in conjunction with the International Forgemasters Meeting (IFM) in Pittsburgh. Returning to the USA for the first time in 17 years, the IFM conference promotes the best in technical and business-oriented presentations for the worldwide forging community.
Electralloy was one of four companies that opened their doors to give IFM attendees a look at the latest in specialty alloy manufacturing technologies.
The tour began with a short but scenic bus ride from Pittsburgh to the Electralloy facility in Oil City. Upon arrival at Electralloy, the attendees were given a guided plant tour that showed how Electralloy products are produced from start to finishóEAF/AOD melt to bottom pour to ESR/VAR remelt.
In addition to remarks from the guides, strategically placed placards provided detailed information about the production techniques and technology utilized by Electralloy.
After the tour, the executives were treated to refreshments and a memento of their visit.

In addition to hosting the open house, Electralloy also hosted a booth at the IFM conference, where technical and sales personal spent their time providing information and discussing industry trends with hundreds and hundreds of interested attendees.
